FAQ

1.What is the resource expiration and recycling mechanism?

Before a resource expires, it is recommended that you renew it promptly to avoid data and business loss. The post-expiry handling of relevant resources is as follows:

Resource Type

Within 7 Days After Expiry

7 Days After Expiry

Instance (vCPU, Memory, System Disk, Public IP)

  • Instance resources (vCPU, memory, system disk, IP) are retained, but the instance is suspended.

  • If renewed successfully within this period, the instance will resume operation.

Compute resources (vCPU, memory, system disk, IP) are released. All configurations and data (system disk data, associated Snapshots) are permanently deleted and irrecoverable.

Data Disk

  • Automatically detached from the instance and cannot be mounted to any instance.

  • If renewed successfully within this period, the Disk can be reattached and will return to normal use.

The Data Disk is released. All data is permanently deleted and irrecoverable.

2.Will I receive reminders before my resources expire?

The system proactively notifies you of resource status changes through the following alerts. It is essential to keep your contact information up-to-date and to check these notifications promptly.

Alert Type

Trigger Time

Delivery Channels

Upcoming Expiry Alert

7 days before resource expiry

In-app message, Email

Expiry Alert

On the resource expiry date

In-app message, Email

We recommend regularly checking resource expiry dates in your console and confirming your contact email is correct, so you don't miss any important updates.

3.How do I change my VPS IP address?

Go to the VMRack console, open the VPS management details, select “IP Address,” and click “Change” to update the IP address.

4.Does the platform support PTR records (rDNS)?

No, PTR records (rDNS) are not supported.

5.Are there any port restrictions on the platform?

No, there are no port restrictions. You can configure and use any ports based on your business needs.

6.Why does Windows Server shut down automatically?

If Windows Server is not activated, it may shut down automatically or enter a feature-limited mode after a period of time.

7.Does the VPS support backups?

The platform does not provide a backup feature, but you can use snapshots to save the current system state and data of your VPS.

8.Does the VPS support internal network communication?

Yes, internal network communication is supported. Instances under the same account within the same data center can communicate with each other via private IP addresses.

9.Can snapshots be renewed?

Snapshots do not support "post-expiration renewal" or "extension of the retention period." Please plan the retention period appropriately based on data importance and backup strategy—for example, set sufficient retention days (e.g., retain monthly backups for over 30 days, and retain critical operational backups for longer periods).

10.Why can't I find the VPS I want to mount when attaching a cloud disk?

Cloud disks cannot be mounted across regions. Ensure your VPS instance and the cloud disk are in the same region, and also confirm that your VPS has not been released.

11.system disk expansion supported?

No, expansion is not supported. The system disk capacity is selected and initialized during instance creation and cannot be directly expanded afterward. This design ensures the stability of the underlying operating system and data consistency.

12.Will data be lost when detaching a cloud disk?

Data on the cloud disk remains unchanged regardless of mounting or detaching operations.
