VMRack Object Storageis a massive unstructured data Object Storage service. Based on an advanced distributed storage architecture, it provides users with secure, stable, and low-cost scalable data storage solutions.
Unlike traditional file storage or server-attached block storage, VMRack Object Storage breaks the directory hierarchy limit of traditional file systems. It uses a flat "Object" structure for data management. Users do not need to worry about underlying storage media, data partitioning, or hardware expansion; they only need to manage files through a simple and intuitive Web management console. It enables data storage and sharing anytime, anywhere on the Internet, eliminating the need to master complex code or API configurations.

Before using VMRack Object Storage, understanding the following basic concepts will help you better understand and use the service:
Bucket: A Bucket is a container for storing objects and is the "root folder" in a traditional file system. Every object must be stored in a specific Bucket. Buckets have globally unique names and exist in specific regions.
Object: The basic unit of data storage in Object Storage. An object contains the content of the file data and metadata. Unlike traditional file systems, objects do not have a hierarchical directory structure but are identified by a unique "Key".
Region: The physical location of the data center where the Bucket resides. Users need to select a region when creating a Bucket. It is usually recommended to choose a region closest to you or your main user group to reduce network latency and improve access speed. (Note: The billing standards for different regions may vary).
Access Control: VMRack provides bucket-level access control lists. You can set the storage bucket to "Private" to protect data security, or set it to "Public" to enable sharing on the Internet.

Elastic Expansion

Website Static Resource Hosting: Store static resources such as website images, CSS style sheets, and JavaScript scripts in a "Public" storage bucket, utilizing the high concurrency capability of Object Storage to share the pressure on the origin server and improve website loading speed and reduce bandwidth costs.
Personal & Enterprise Data Backup: Use VMRack Object Storage as an off-site backup warehouse. Whether it is photos and videos in personal computers, or database backup files and log files generated by enterprise servers, they can be safely stored in the cloud to prevent data disasters caused by local hardware failures.
Content Distribution & Sharing: When sending large files to customers or team members, you only need to upload the file to Object Storage and send the generated link to the other party to achieve fast downloading, replacing traditional email attachments or FTP transmission.
To ensure the stability and service quality of the platform, the current version has the following limits:
Operation Method: Currently only supports management via the Web Console. Does not tentatively support API, SDK, or third-party S3 client connections.
File Size: The maximum size of a single file uploaded by the system is 20GB.
Cross-Region Mounting: Does not support directly mounting storage buckets as local disks for cloud servers, nor does it support cross-region mounting.
