Domain | The domain name accessed by end-users to retrieve CDN-accelerated content (e.g., www.example.com). End-users access this domain to enjoy the acceleration services provided by the CDN. |
CNAME | A unique alias assigned by the CDN platform for each accelerated domain (ending in .cdnprovider.com). You must configure a CNAME record at your DNS provider to point the accelerated domain to this alias, thereby routing traffic into the CDN network. |
Origin Server | The server where you actually deploy your business and store original content. It is the source of CDN data. When a CDN node does not have the content requested by a user (cache miss), it fetches data from the Origin Server. Supports configuration via IP or Domain name. |
Node | A cluster of servers distributed across VMRack's global edge network. Nodes are responsible for caching content and responding to user requests from the nearest location. They are key facilities for reducing latency and improving transfer speeds. |
Origin Fetch | The process where a CDN node requests data from the Origin Server. This usually occurs when a user-requested resource results in a MISS (no cache or cache expired) at the CDN node. |
Origin Host | The value of the Host field carried in the request header by the CDN node during origin fetch. It determines which specific site (virtual host) on the Origin Server the origin fetch request accesses. |
SSL/TLS | Cryptographic protocols used to ensure network communication security. Configuring an SSL certificate on the CDN enables data transmission via the HTTPS protocol, preventing data eavesdropping or tampering during transit. |
Referer Hotlink Protection | An access control mechanism based on the Referer field in HTTP headers. By configuring blacklist/whitelist rules, it identifies and rejects reference requests from unauthorized domains, protecting origin resources from illegal theft. |
