VPS

VMRack VPS is a high-performance cloud computing product designed for global users, built on a self-developed virtualization platform and automated provisioning system. Users can quickly create and manage VPS instances without purchasing or maintaining physical hardware, flexibly configure CPU, memory, and bandwidth resources, and easily achieve rapid deployment and elastic scaling for their business workloads.

Related Concepts

Understanding the following cloud server fundamentals will help you better choose and use VMRack VPS:

Concept

Description

Instance

An Instance is a virtual server on the cloud, comprising fundamental components such as vCPU, memory, an operating system, network, and disks. You can create, manage, and release instances through the console, deploying applications and performing daily operations just as you would with a local server.

Image

An Image serves as the "installation template" for a VPS, containing a pre-installed operating system and software environment. You can rapidly create VPS instances based on an image.

Disk

Provides persistent, highly reliable block storage devices for instances, functioning as the system disk or data disk for a VPS. Multi-replica data storage is a standard configuration, preventing data loss.

Public IP

A unique address that enables your VPS to communicate bi-directionally with the Internet. It serves as the entry point for users to access applications (such as websites) deployed on your server.

Firewall

A virtual firewall used to configure network access control rules (e.g., opening/closing specific ports) for one or multiple VPS instances. It is a crucial means of network security isolation.

Snapshot

A complete copy or backup of a Disk's data at a specific point in time. It captures all data on the disk, including the operating system, programs, and data files.

Bandwidth

Refers to the maximum data transfer rate of a VPS per unit of time (typically one second), usually measured in Mbps or Gbps

Data Transfer

Refers to the total amount of data actually sent and received by a VPS over the public network within a given period, typically measured in GB or TB.

Product Advantages

1.Self-Hosted Data Center in Los Angeles, USA (Equinix LA4)

VMRack VPS core nodes are deployed in a self-hosted data center at Equinix LA4 in Los Angeles, USA. Built in accordance with Tier-1 international data center standards, the infrastructure provides a highly reliable and secure operating environment. Through deep integration with VMRack’s self-developed cloud platform, we achieve full-stack control from underlying hardware to resource scheduling, delivering stable, low-latency cloud computing performance for your business workloads.

2.Premium Tri-Network & Intelligent Routing

VMRack offers Premium Tri-Network routes (CN2 GIA / AS9929 / CMIN2), optimized multi-carrier routes, and native U.S. network VPS options. Through partnerships with global Tier-1 carriers, VMRack implements dynamic intelligent routing to ensure your traffic is always delivered via the optimal path. This effectively guarantees low latency and high network stability, making it ideal for latency-sensitive workloads such as streaming, gaming, and real-time interactive applications.

3.High-Performance Hardware for Demanding Workloads

To deliver an exceptional and consistent performance experience, we exclusively deploy the latest AMD EPYC processor platforms. This strategy allows us to deeply optimize our hardware architecture, offering you single-tenant-grade reliability and exceptional performance at a highly competitive cost, effortlessly handling even the most demanding workloads.

4.Flexible Billing Models that Adapt to Your Business

We understand the diversity of business needs and therefore offer two billing models: Metered Data Transfer and Fixed Bandwidth. You can choose the most cost-effective method based on your business traffic patterns, achieving the optimal balance between cost and performance for greater business flexibility.

5.Comprehensive and Reassuring Security Protection

Security is our cornerstone. We provide a defense-in-depth system encompassing everything from biometric access control in physical data centers and full-data-encryption to seamlessly integrated network-layer protections including WAF (Web Application Firewall), DDoS protection, and CC attack mitigation. This system effectively defends against various attacks from the network to the application layer, offering round-the-clock protection for your critical business and data.

Application Scenarios

VPS offers broad applicability and can support a wide range of services from individual to enterprise level:

Website & Application Hosting

VPS is the ideal choice for hosting online services. Whether for a startup project or an established platform, you can easily adjust server resources (CPU, memory, bandwidth) based on traffic. Integrated features like cloud monitoring, snapshot backups, and Security Groups provide comprehensive support for your website, covering deployment, operations, and security.

Game Server Deployment

The success of online games heavily depends on stable server performance, high-quality networks, and a reliable runtime environment. VPS provides high-reliability, high-performance computing support for various games, effectively ensuring smooth and stable operation and delivering a seamless, low-latency experience for players. Furthermore, the straightforward operational management of VPS allows game development teams to focus more on gameplay and business innovation.

Development, Testing & DevOps

VPS has fundamentally transformed software development infrastructure. Developers can use Images to quickly replicate testing environments identical to the production environment, avoiding the common issue where "code works in development but fails in production." Combined with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, it enables automated deployment and testing, serving as the core infrastructure for agile development and DevOps practices.

Elastic Computing & Data Processing

For non-continuous, heavy computing tasks, owning physical servers is costly and inefficient. VPS allows you to temporarily assemble powerful computing clusters on-demand to process massive datasets or complex computations. Once the task is complete, the cluster can be automatically released, and you only pay for the actual compute time used. This provides unparalleled computing flexibility for research institutions, video studios, and data analysis teams.
